Privacy Policy

Clearline Design is a one-person contract detailing and drafting business in Kansas City, Missouri, operated by Dylan Fleetwood, Principal. This page explains what information is collected, what happens to it, and what is never done with it. It is written plainly because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.

Information collected on this website

If you submit the contact form, the following is collected because you typed it: your name, email address, and optionally your phone number, company name, what you need, and any message you write. It is used to reply to you and to quote the work.

Five more fields are sent with the form that you did not type, and it would be wrong not to name them. They record how you found this site, and here is all five, one by one:

• Source. How your first visit started: the utm_source tag on the link you clicked if it carried one, otherwise the domain of the site that linked you, otherwise the word direct.
• Campaign. The utm_medium and utm_campaign tags from that same link, if it carried them. Usually empty.
• Landing page. Which page of this site you first arrived on.
• Last touch. The domain that referred you on the visit where you send the form. It is often one of our own pages, because the form only lives on the home page.
• First seen. The date of your first visit.

Where a referring address is recorded, only the domain is kept, never the full web address. These five are used to know which outreach is worth continuing and nothing else. They are never used to build a profile of you, and they are not shared.

To carry your first-visit details from one page to the next, this site stores one item in your browser's local storage, named cl_attr. It holds five values and no others: the source, the utm_medium and utm_campaign tags, the page you landed on, and the date of that first visit. It is not a cookie, it is not readable by anyone else, and it never leaves your browser unless you choose to submit the form. Clearing your browsing data removes it. If you would rather not send any of it, email dylan@clearlinecontent.com directly instead of using the form.

The form is processed by Netlify, which hosts this site. Submissions are delivered by email and stored in the site's Netlify account. Netlify's own privacy terms apply to that processing.

This site runs no analytics, no advertising pixels, no third-party trackers and no cookies for tracking purposes. No third-party requests are made from any page.

How long information is kept

Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted within twelve months. Records relating to actual paid work — quotes, correspondence and invoices — are kept for seven years, because tax and business records have to be. You can ask for your enquiry to be deleted sooner at any time.

Client project files

Drawings, models, specifications and any other material sent for a project are treated as confidential. They are:

• used only to produce the work you have asked for
• never shared with any third party
• never reused on another client's project
• never published as portfolio or sample work without your written permission

Every sample drawing shown on this site is original work product created to demonstrate drafting standards. None of it contains client material. A mutual non-disclosure agreement is available on request and can be signed before any files change hands.

Google user data

Clearline Design operates a private internal tool that connects to its own Google account in order to send and manage its own business correspondence. This tool is used by Dylan Fleetwood only. It is not a public application and it has no other users.

What it accesses, and why

• Gmail message access and sending (gmail.modify) — to send business correspondence from the Clearline Design mailbox and to read replies to it, so that outreach and replies stay in one thread rather than being retyped by hand.
• Basic mail settings (gmail.settings.basic) — to confirm that the dylan@clearlinecontent.com send-as identity is verified before anything is sent, so mail cannot go out under the wrong address.

What happens to that data

• It stays on the account owner's own computer and in the Clearline Design Google account. It is not uploaded, copied or transmitted anywhere else.
• It is never sold, rented, traded or transferred to any third party.
• It is never used for advertising, marketing profiles, or training any machine learning or AI model.
• Access credentials are stored locally on the owner's machine and are used solely to authenticate against Google's own API.

People we write to

Clearline Design contacts businesses about contract drafting work. Contact details used for that purpose are business addresses that the company has published on its own website or in a public trade directory. No purchased lists are used, and no personal addresses are scraped.

If you would rather not be contacted again, reply once and say so. The request is recorded permanently and honoured without exception. You do not need to explain why, and you will not receive a message asking you to reconsider.

Your rights

You can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email dylan@clearlinecontent.com and it will be handled. There is no form to fill in and no charge.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS. Project files and correspondence are held on encrypted storage. Clearline Design is one person, which means the list of people with access to your files is exactly one, and no data is handed to subcontractors or offshore teams.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Anyone with an active project at the time will be told directly rather than being expected to notice.
